Mapeamento da produção científica sobre a região metropolitana de Curitiba e o seu alinhamento com os objetivos do desenvolvimento sustentável

Abstract

This research is located in the field of Sustainability Sciences, with a focus on research on the themes of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in the context of the territory of the Metropolitan Region of Curitiba (RMC). It starts from the assumption that each territory has specific characteristics, demanding the search for one or more SDGs, which provide sustainable development according to these characteristics. In this context, the role of science is essential for the achievement of the SDGs, whether in the search for new technologies that enable a better use of resources without harming the environment; either in measuring the progress achieved. Studies involving multiple disciplines and actors inside and outside the academy are becoming increasingly frequent and relevant for solving complex problems, especially in research related to sustainability. Thus, the objective of this thesis was to identify the alignment of scientific production on the metropolitan region of Curitiba with the objectives of sustainable development, as characteristics of the Sciences of Sustainability.The data are secondary, bibliographic and were collected through the search for scientific productions in the Scopus, Web of Science and Scielo databases. The keywords for conducting the search were refined, tested and distributed into subgroups based on scientific work: Elsevier’s Sustainability Science in a Global Landscape Report and the Keywords Guide, developed by Universities in Austria. The publications found were analyzed quantitatively, using spreadsheets and graphs, tables in Microsoft Excel with the contribution of the pivot table tool and external software: BibExcel, Openfire and VOSviewer. Analyzes of bibliometric networks were applied to characterize coauthorities and coproductions, as well as to establish interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary relationships between the SDGs. As a direct result, the panorama of scientific production related to the RMC’s SDGs became evident, which enabled the elaboration of a research panorama, characterizing the interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary relations, in the context of the RMC. The research results show that there is cooperation and co-production of knowledge between the authors. There is also collaboration between different types of institutions, inside and outside the academy. The publications reveal the involvement of different actors, setting up collaboration networks, co-productions around the same territory. Thus, it is evident that they are naturally inter and transdisciplinary research.
