| Resumo: | O estudo aqui apresentado buscou achar fundamento teórico referente ao ensino de inglês para a terceira idade trazendo à tona a falta de material didático para tal grupo. Referente a metodologia, buscou-se analisar os materiais atuais ofertados nas editoras e escolas utilizados para a terceira idade. O estudo é de caráter bibliográfico, onde a revisão de literatura foi base para o esclarecimento. Os resultados vieram de encontro com o esperado – os materiais didáticos ofertados no mercado atualmente não suprem a necessidade para o ensino da língua inglesa para a terceira idade. A pesquisa evidenciou que cada indivíduo é singular, e tem necessidades diferentes. Eu como professora particular, tive alunos com objetivos de aprendizagem variados, porém todos convergem em uma mesma afirmativa – que o aprendizado de outra língua também é para manter a mente ativa além de outros objetivos, em função destas diferenças sugere-se diálogos direcionado com questões que possibilitem a identificação dos interesses do aluno, para desenvolver atividades que despertam o interesse, motivação e participação na construção do conhecimento da língua inglesa. |
| Abstract: | The study presented here sought to find a theoretical basis regarding the teaching of English for seniors, bringing to light the lack of teaching material for this group. Regarding the methodology, we sought to analyze the current materials offered in publishers and schools used for the third age group. The study is bibliographic in nature, where a literature review was the basis for clarification. The results met were what was expected – the teaching materials currently offered on the market do not meet the need for teaching English to this group. Research has shown that each individual is unique and has different needs. As a private teacher, I had students with varied learning objectives, but they all converged on the same statement – that learning another language is indeed about keeping the mind active in addition to other objectives. Due to these differences, targeted dialogue is suggested with questions that enable the identification of the student’s interest, to develop activities that arouse interest, motivation and participation in the construction of knowledge of the English language. |
