Museu de uma pessoa só: a (re)existência pela memória e patrimônio cultural

Abstract

The focus of this research are professionals/civil servants/workers, and people who work in municipal museum institutions, who, in some way, try to establish material and symbolic relationships with the community in which they work. Through conversations and interviews, the goal is to understand what are the difficulties, challenges, disputes and good initiatives of the professional practice in a municipal public museum institution. The purpose will be to problematize the legislative artifacts and techniques that may affect these practices. Furthermore, the question is how the experiences of these professionals can influence practical and technical issues that are mandatory in museums’ daily work. To carry out empirical research it will use thematic oral history methodology, based on the individual point of view expressed during the interview, to guide the investigation. This proposal is connected to museology and museum management (Applied Social Sciences), oral history and public policies (Human Sciences) and aims to establish relationships between technology and society. In fact, the amalgamation of all these areas places this research within the Technology and Society Program (PPGTE) of the Technological University of Paraná (UTFPR). Therefore, exploring the institutional space, the learning process, the professional performance and the relationship between the material and cultural heritage safeguarded in museum institutions, these objectives are compatible with the PPGTE’s “Mediations and Cultures” line of research.
