Abstract

This work has "Solid Waste Disposal in Rural Areas” as its theme and its objective is to understand the different forms of reduction and minimization of solid waste in rural areas as alternatives both fundamental to the preservation of the environment in improving the quality of life of the general population. As for specific goals, they discuss the influence of solid waste generation in the degradation of the environment, characterize the rural area as the generation of waste, identify the mechanisms of existing solid waste management and propose alternative technologies and management to improve the current system. Using as a method literature search, this work is based on the theoretical number of authors specialized on the subject. Thus, the theoretical framework addresses the environment and environmental pollution, solid waste and National Policy on Solid Waste, solid waste in rural areas and its impact on the environment and the disposal of waste in rural areas. The results demonstrate that the burning and waste disposal in the open air on the banks of watercourses can cause both visual and environmental pollution, harming the environment and human health. The alternatives involving composting, recycling and reuse of solid waste produced in rural areas, as well as reverse logistics brought about by shared responsibility, established by law, represent valuable tools and mechanisms in solid waste management and the protection and preservation of the environment as an essential to the existence of life on the planet.
