Cursos de licenciatura em química no contexto paranaense: um olhar para a carreira docente

Abstract

Some research in the field of teacher training estimates that, in a few years, there will be a crisis in the number of teachers willing to teach. Concerning the Chemistry curricular component, the concern is growing because fewer and fewer students are interested in studying and pursuing a teaching career in Chemistry. In the state of Paraná, there are several Chemistry Degree courses, both in-person and distance learning, which are offered by Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), both private and public, state and federal. In view of this, the objective of this Course Conclusion Paper (TCC) is to identify the Chemistry Degree courses in the state of Paraná, offered by such institutions, aiming to understand the context of training and teaching work, as well as the attractiveness of the career. This research is qualitative and exploratory in nature and will include bibliographical research with a view to understanding the main variants surrounding the teaching profession, as well as surveying the context of the Chemistry Degree courses in the state of Paraná, based on data from the National Institute of Studies and Educational Research Anísio Teixeira (INEP) and the National Registry of Courses and IES (e-MEC registry). We hope that the results of this research can support those interested in the subject, regarding the immediate demand for valorization of the teaching profession, as well as that IES can carefully look at the interest of students regarding higher education training in order to provide training courses that meet the demand of the job market, as well as excellence in training.
